Our Work
The Albemarle Foundation for Education (AFE) connects community generosity with the students, families, and educators of Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS). In close partnership with ACPS leadership, the Albemarle Foundation for Education identifies where philanthropic investment can be most impactful and directs resources to the areas of highest need and greatest opportunity. This includes supporting research-based programs and curriculum that help close opportunity gaps, addressing basic and essential needs that strengthen student well-being, and investing in teacher development and retention by helping educators and aspiring educators pursue credentials, licenses, and professional growth. Through meaningful partnerships with donors, community organizations, and individuals, AFE helps expand opportunity and create the conditions for every ACPS student and educator to thrive.
